TEAM MANAGERS REPORT
MIDDLESEX VS BUCKINGHAMSHIRE FITA OUTDOOR SHOOT 29 JUNE 2008
On the 29th June at Greenwood Osterley. Middlesex hosted the annual Middlesex vs Buckinghamshire outdoor match. The was weather was overcast most of the day with sunny spells in-between and with a little wind for most of the day. Middlesex had a good day by winning three out of four of the matches. There was some confussion over the number of arrows to shoot when the targets were moved to 50 meters, some archers shot 6 arrows and not 3 this was sorted out by the judges at the time.
My thanks goes out to all the archers who shot for the county particularly those who had not done so before.

FOUR COUNTIES FITA OUTDOOR SHOOT 22 JUNE 2008
On the 22nd June at Greenwood Osterley Middlesex hosted the four way county shoot. Although it ended up as a three way shoot as London could not field a team. The weather was damp to start with and brightened up later, so all in all we had a very good day despite the wind being very gusty.
It was a disappointing match for Middlesex, we did not win any of the categories. The junior team done well considering half of them have not shot for the county before.
My thanks goes out to all the archers who shot for the county, hopefully we will do better next time.

Middlesex vs Hertfordshire 2nd March 2008
It was a disappointing result for the Middlesex archers at the annual indoor match against Hertfordshire. The Hertfordshire compound team led from the start and Middlesex lost the match by 52 points but they were up against a very good compound team.
The longbow team were losing after the first dozen by 5 points after the second dozen they were in the lead by 4 points, then Hertfordshire settled down and dominated the rest of the match, finishing 93 points ahead.
The recurve team started very well being in the lead by one point after the first dozen but Hertfordshire settled down and increased their lead by an average of 25 points over the next four dozen arrows and finished the match 99 points ahead.
It was a good match and a very friendly atmosphere. The facilities for shooting were bright and airy (particularly the bright blue walls). The judge was Clive Haywood of Hertfordshire. Kevin Thurlow also made an appearance. My thanks goes out to all the archers who shot for the Middlesex team.
Regards
Ron, Team Manager
